Thriving in Medicine
Our Origin
Thriving in Medicine was created by a group of senior women doctors working in Te Whatu Ora.
Our Goal
Our aim is to develop a platform to create conversation and sharing of ideas around workplace wellbeing in healthcare.
Our Work
Join us for our upcoming retreats that are tailored to support your physical and mental health.
Our Te Reo name, Whakahauora Tākuta, was gifted to us by Dr Owen Sinclair, Te Rarawa. 'Whakahauora' means to reinvigorate, rejuvenate or refresh, and 'tākuta' simply means doctor.
"You guys are completely amazing and I am extremely grateful for you wonderful wāhine doing this important mahi."
Thriving in Medicine is committed to giving back to communities in need - 5% of our profits are donated. This year's fees will be donated to Women's Refuge. We also aim to be carbon neutral and offset air travel etc by supporting OraTaiao (NZ Climate and Health Council).
